    It has been announced that Simon Edwards, Ricardo’s global director of technology, has been appointed to chair EARPA, the influential association of automotive R&D organisations across Europe.

    Founded in 2002, EARPA – the European Automotive Research Partners Association – brings together over forty of the most prominent R&D providers in the European automotive sector.   • Ricardo-AEA to support evaluation of Carbon Capture and Storage Directive

    Ricardo-AEA, in collaboration with Triple E Consulting (TEC) and research organization TNO, has won a major European Commission contract to support an evaluation study of the EU Directive covering carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.

    Directive 2009/31/EC on the geological storage of carbon dioxide – known as the CCS Directive – has been in place since 2009 and sets out a legal framework for the safe geological storage of carbon dioxide within the EU.   • China’s JMH collaborates with Ricardo on new vehicle and transmission development

    Jiangling Motor Holding Co. Ltd (JMH) – the company that produces vehicles under the Landwind brand within China – has revealed that it is working with Ricardo on vehicle and transmission development to support the launch of the new Landwind X5 8AT SUV product.

    Under the contract placed by JMH, based in Jiangxi Province, Ricardo is providing advanced engineering support for the integration of an 8-speed automatic transmission into the Landwind X5 vehicle, with the aim of providing new and internationally competitive levels of performance and functionality.

  • Ricardo wins multi-year contract for Japanese Super Formula transmissions

    Ricardo is today announcing that it has secured a multi-year deal as the sole source of racing transmissions for the Japanese Super Formula series.

    The Japanese Super Formula series consists of seven rounds of highly competitive racing among some of the most prestigious Japanese tracks. Under the terms of the contract announced today, Ricardo will provide an in-house designed, manufactured and assembled racing transmission from its Leamington Spa facility directly to Japan where it will be assembled into the racecar by each of the series’ competing teams.
