  • AGA Systems selects Pi Innovo technology for bi-fuel CNG system of GM Silverado/Sierra pickups

    15 October 2015

Pi Innovo is proud to announce, in collaboration with AGA Systems Inc. of Kaysville, UT., the launch of a new bi-fuel system diagnostic interface module.

AGA Systems’ new bi-fuel system diagnostic module is based on Pi Innovo’s flexible OpenECU® M220 control module, which gives AGA Systems the freedom to develop its own software and unique control methodologies with an electronic module ideal for low to medium volume commercial and automotive applications. AGA Systems has achieved EPA certification for its bi-fuel system for General Motors light duty truck and SUV platforms, which operates seamlessly with the original manufacturer’s engine control system. ...

  • Ricardo assists Future Transport Systems to develop its E-STOR fast EV charger

    06 October 2015

With increasing demand for fast, high-capacity electric vehicle (EV) charging, Future Transport Systems (FTS) has developed – with support from Ricardo – a highly innovative and cost-effective solution based on reusing EV batteries in a ‘second life’ application.

As the number of EVs in use on the highway increases, local electrical distribution networks will be subjected to additional loads as users seek to recharge their vehicles using existing domestic and workplace supplies. Moreover, for convenience, many EV users are likely to require fast charging at capacities above those available from such connections.

The FTS E-STOR concept is a highly innovative charging ...

  • Ricardo participates in major natural gas heavy duty vehicle research initiative

    23 September 2015

It can be revealed today that Ricardo will be a key partner in the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Green Vehicle Initiative project ‘HDGAS’ – a project that aims to develop, demonstrate and optimize advanced powertrain concepts for dual-fuel and pure natural gas powered heavy duty vehicles.

Long haul trucks are an essential element of the transportation mix of modern, industrialized society. They are, however, inherently less amenable to the type of electrification and hybridization strategies that are already contributing to reduced carbon emissions and potential long-term sustainability for the light vehicle sector. A key global imperative is, therefore, the substantial improvement ...
